Drink it in

I’ve been working on Fringe stuff, and I’ve learned something very important- writing does not come easily to me. I mean, I am am pretty good with written communications. I can bang out a formal email or a whimsical blog very quickly and well, but *writing*… that’s got pressure and judgment and all other forms of ickyness around it.

So for my show, I’m going to read a series of formal emails.

Actually, I am really excited for my show.  I like what it is and what it sets out to accomplish. I’m still putting stuff together for it, but I have a solid beginning, a solid ending, and some solid stuff in the middle. I just need to give it a bit more body. I think a dance is in order. Belly dance. Ha ha, get it? Body? Belly?

The show is much better. Promise.

Flier for my Fringe show in less than 3 months!

Glance

My brother and I are starting a poetry blog. We each have out own journals that we will feed our poetry from. Since wordpress has a category feed option, you get the added bonus of my crappy poetry once a week.

This is a test.

He challenged me- the look he gave was steel.
It warned of strength and power in his hand;
And in that look the pit of me could feel
that everything was going as he planned.
And if I followed through on his ideal
the man would win- the lady would be damned.
The look was calculated to enhance
my insecurities before we’d dance.

He didn’t think his look would serve a dare
He automatically thought me weak.
So I looked back, a full and cutting glare;
This lady isn’t made of coy and meek!
It stopped him in his trackes- he turned to stare
but I would not provide him time to speak.
I push his look away with one small glance
And then in ernest we began to dance.
